With an MSRP of just $910, Mossberg set out to create a super-affordable rifle with its MVP Long Range (LR) in 6.5 Creedmoor. Mossberg has packed a lot into the economical lead-slinger and given it flexibility with SR-25-style magazine compatibility. Our test model came with a fluted, 22-inch, medium-bull barrel with 5/8×24-tpi threading at the muzzle. There’s also a Picatinny rail on top of the receiver for optics as well as Mossberg’s LBA trigger, which can be adjusted from 3 to 7 pounds. The stock is pillar bedded with a push-button-adjustable comb to help the shooter find their comfort zone. All in all, it’s a straightforward, no-nonsense rifle that should appeal to new shooters or those looking for a general-use, get-’er-done option for the field.
