Known for its lightweight, premium carbon-fiber-wrapped barrels, Proof Research also offers a line of complete rifles for discerning shooters. The TAC III is Proof’s ultimate bad boy. It’s outfitted with a Big Horn action with an integral recoil lug, a carbon-fiber stock, a TriggerTech trigger and, of course, a 24-inch, carbon-fiber-wrapped barrel. The action is bedded for “extreme accuracy,” according to the company, and comes with a 0.5-MOA accuracy guarantee.

The Proof TAC III is serious about what it does, but with a price tag of $7,699, it was also the most expensive of the bunch.
