Charter Arms recently introduced the Mag Pug Combo, a defensive revolver that offers shooters a great deal of versatility. Chambered for .357 Magnum/.38 Special this DA/SA revolver also comes with an extra cylinder/crane assembly chambered for 9mm.
Offered in 2.20” or 4.20” barrels the gun is also available in stainless and black Passivate finishes. The fixed sight gun also features barrel porting to reduce muzzle climb.

Switching between the .357 Magnum/.38 SPL cylinder and the 9mm cylinder is as easy as removing the screw at the front of the frame, sliding out the cylinder/crane assembly and replacing it with the other cylinder and reinstalling the screw. Charter’s patented technology uses an extractor star with spring loaded studs to engage the 9mm casing at the extraction groove. In my testing the empty casings were extracted and ejected with 100% reliability.
With a variety of .357 Magnum, .38 SPL and 9mm ammunition I tested the Mag Pug combo for accuracy with my targets set at 15-yards. What I found was the gun had tremendous accuracy for a snubnose revolver with an aggregate group size of just 2”!
The gun’s well-designed grips and ported barrel made the gun very controllable, and its 7-pound 6-ounce double action trigger pull made it easy to get hits during rapid fire.
Throughout the testing Charter Arms’ Mag Pug Combo proved to be 100% reliable. It offers excellent accuracy for a short-barreled gun and its caliber versatility should keep you shooting during ammo shortages. Priced at $659 the Mag Pug Combo provides revolver enthusiasts with a great deal of value for the money!
