The CZ Shadow 2 Carry pistol did not surprise me in the least. CZ knows how to build reliable, accurate, and soft-shooting firearms. As a competitive shooter, I have long seen the CZ Shadow 2 pistol being used in various shooting sports, and I can’t recall any malfunctions or issues. I was excited to get my hands on the Shadow 2 Carry to see how I compared to its big brother.
The gun is extremely comfortable in the hand and is easily manageable in terms of felt recoil. The weight of the gun significantly contributes to this lack of felt recoil, which ultimately leads to faster follow-up shots and improved accuracy. The grip texture is aggressive on the front strap and back strap for a better grip when firing the gun. It does have texture on the sides, but it isn’t overly aggressive where it would be uncomfortable to carry on the body. This gun is a single-action/double-action firearm, and for those not used to this, it can take some getting used to. The 11.9-pound double-action trigger pull is intentionally that heavy as a safety precaution for use as a carry pistol. The decocker safely decocks the hammer and sets the trigger to double action for concealed carry. After shooting groups with various types of ammunition, I wasn’t surprised to see how accurate this 4-inch-barreled pistol can be. Not only that, the gun was also reliable and didn’t have excessive felt recoil, despite firing +P and higher-velocity ammunition. I would recommend and use this pistol myself as a carry gun.
