With a $400 street price, a polymer lower receiver, 34 round magazine, five inch barrel, and a ventilated front handguard, the Jawbone seems like it’s channeling the TEC-9 of gang wars infamy three decades past. Don’t let the look fool you. It’s a well designed, compact, well made, reliable and accurate PDW (personal defense weapon) that weighs barely five pounds and can be handled effectively by young and old, weak or strong. It’s a serious home defense gun, made in the United States, with Picatinny rail and M-lok mounting capabilities for attaching your choice of performance enhancing accessories like a red-dot optic, tactical light or targeting laser. The one-piece polymer lower receiver/grip has a steel reinforcement molded in to support the buffertube and rear retaining pin. The gripwell holds an extra magazine too with a conventional release button you can set up for right or left hand operation. This allows you to have upwards of 60 rounds at the ready.
The Jawbone is solidly built, with an aluminum upper and handguard, fully ambidextrous AR style controls, and a handguard mounted non-reciprocating charging handle. The minimalist blade style brace adjusts in six steps for an overall length from 21 to 24.25 inches. The muzzle is threaded ½” x 28 TPI and factory fitted with a blast diverter to reduce concussion from the short barrel. GForce Arms recommends only full power ammo when firing unsuppressed, and subsonic ammo only when shooting suppressed. I had reliable function in my unsuppressed testing with both types. Accuracy was excellent with average five shot groups just over one inch when shooting from a benchrest at 25 yards.

Sleek, compact, light, reliable and a straight shooter, the only thing that bugged me about it was the curious rotation of the safety lever that left it underneath my shooting hand when in the firing position. The Jawbone is so nice, I have to wonder if it was part of President Trump’s Make America Great Again agenda. For more information on the GForce Arms Jawbone pistol, visit www.GForceArms.com.
