Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) has modernized the classic Jericho 941 with the new optic-ready F ORP model. The new full-size pistol retains the original “Baby Eagle’s” beefy steel frame, while enhancing it with an optic cut, co-witness iron sights, improved ergonomics, and more responsive controls. These improvements, plus the 17+1 9mm capacity, make the new Jericho 941 F ORP a formidable sidearm.
The Jericho 941 F ORP ships with steel mounting plates for RMR and DeltaPoint Pro footprint optics, with milled rear sight notches. IWI includes Allen wrenches and screws for the plates. Other enhancements include deep front slide serrations; better grip texture; a new captured recoil spring assembly; a longer 1913 Picatinny rail; ambidextrous thumb safety; and a larger, more prominent, reversible magazine release button.

The new features put the Jericho 941 F ORP on a par with much newer firearms, while keeping the gun’s already proven basic design. I paired it with a closed-emitter Meprolight MPO Pro F red dot, giving it an optic worthy of the Jericho’s ruggedness.
The 38.6 oz. unloaded weight makes the Jericho 941 hefty indeed, but it also significantly reduces felt recoil and makes the gun easy to handle. The DA/SA trigger is typical of the type, with a very long 12 lb. DA pull, while the half-cock trigger is a steady 7lbs. and the SA a very light and crisp 2.25 lbs. The thumb safety allows “Condition 1” or “cocked and locked” carry if you like that and have the training. I prefer to carry it half-cock.
The gun is very accurate and is a pure pleasure to shoot. The all steel construction is just satisfying. The Jericho 941 F ORP won’t be for everyone. I carried it some, but it requires some thought and certain attire. But this is a tough, reliable pistol if you like big, DA/SA handguns.
