Outstanding reliability, durability and accuracy define the SAR9 family of polymer frame, striker fired, 9mm pistols. Extensively tested in development to exceed NATO testing standards, the SAR9 beat worldwide competitors to become the new standard sidearm of the Turkish military. The SAR9C is the compact, concealed carry, version of the full size military pistol with a shortened gripframe, 15 round standard flush fit magazine, and 4 inch barrel. Now in their third generation, the pistols have been continuously enhanced with features to appeal to the demanding American market. This newest version has an aluminum, flat faced trigger, comes optics ready (RMSc footprint), has more and more aggressive gripping grooves on the front, middle and rear of the forged steel slide, ventilating/lightening windows cut through the nose of the slide, and excellent Meprolight three-dot tritium night sights with a retail price under $500! The compact shares the same internal parts and user customizable grip frame (with small, medium and large side panels and backstraps) as the SAR9, SAR9 Sport and threaded barrel SAR9 SOCOM; and can use any of their larger (17, 19 and 21 round) magazines for more firepower. Don’t let the price fool you. This is as good a gun, and in some cases much better, than many offered by well known American and European brands at a substantially higher price. They cost less because of highly efficient production methods and the lower cost of labor in Turkey. To shoot it is to respect it…and perhaps even fall in love with it. This is an excellent handgun. It is made by one of the largest gun makers in Turkey, this is NATO spec and quality is great. Many of the internal parts are copied from Glock. The trigger pull is very good. Accuracy is excellent. Ergonomics will fit most hands, and the backstrap can be changed. The magazines are reliable but very hard to fully load when new. Since this is a NATO pistol it is designed for GI ball spec 1150 fps minimum 115 or 125 gr. Using smaller size balls or less potent loads can cause malfunctions when new. This compact does not have a manual safety, but the full size does. The price of about $450 is fair, but at the moment there are a lot of earlier generation models on sale near $225, can be found online and aside from minor changes they are the same gun.
