Not to be outdone, the folks at Sig Sauer did what I thought could never be done and that’s make a polymer-framed pistol beautiful—at least in my eyes. The new P320 Spectre Comp is a compelling blend of both aesthetics and performance. Its signature feature is the user-removable, single-port compensator that puts in serious work to reduce muzzle flip and to help keep the shooter on target for faster follow-up shots.

There are several aspects to the P320 Spectre Comp’s visual appeal, the first of which is the titanium-nitride treated (and threaded) barrel and flat-faced trigger. Building on that, the pistol has a two-tone appearance with its gray, tungsten-infused polymer frame and the contrasting black slide that is beautifully machined with serrations and channels that almost makes it look like a work of art.

Some of those visual elements are quite functional, including the front and rear slide serrations that offers plenty of traction for easy manipulation. The laser-engraved grip texturing feels as good as it looks and provides the user with a superb purchase on the pistol. And while the magazine well adds a little graceful flare to the polymer frame, it’s perfect for facilitating quick reloads with the supplied 21-round magazines.

Adding to the P320 Spectre Comp’s functionality are Sig’s excellent Xray-3 day/night sights and the optics cut in the slide to mount your favorite red-dot. Throw in the ambi slide stop, reversible mag release and the Picatinny rail, and you have a pistol that’s action-packed with performance-enhancing features and magnificent style
