For the hobbyist or the serious enthusiast who wants a little more performance from their pistol but still has to work from a limited budget, Taurus has recently introduced the new G3 Tactical. One of the unique aspects of the G3 series of pistols is the trigger. With most striker-fired triggers, if you have a misfire or pull the trigger on an empty chamber, you have to manually rack the slide to cock the striker. The G3 Tactical has a quasi-DA/SA mechanism that allows for re-strike capability without having to manually rack the slide.
While we’re on the subject of the slide, the G3 Tactical includes Taurus’ TORO optics cut for the user to mount a red-dot with one of the four currently available adapter plates. The slide also wears a set of suppressor-height sights for co-witnessing with an optic or for use while running a suppressor. To aid in that bit of fun, the G3 Tactical also ships with a threaded barrel that integrates a ½ x 28 thread pitch.

Sporting very tacky texturing and thumb scallops, the G3 Tactical grip frame feels right at home in the hand and offers good recoil control for its relatively small size. The frame includes a Picatinny rail and its appearance is Magpul FDE, which is a nice contrast to the Patriot Brown Cerakote finish on the slide. The G3 Tactical ships with two 17-round magazines and is presented in a very nice case complete with Velcro straps to lock all components into place.
