The Nighthawk Custom Cooper Classic – First Look

In January of 2023, Nighthawk Custom announced the acquisition of Cooper Firearms, a Montana based custom rifle company. 

To celebrate the new venture, Nighthawk Custom has produced a custom 1911 that is absolutely stunning. The Cooper Classic is based on a standard Government Model and is only available in .45 ACP. It is built by one gunsmith, to the same exacting standards as every Nighthawk Custom pistol. The Classic features include a Harrison Design Retro rear sight, a gold bead front sight and 30 LPI checkering on the front strap. Other features include polished flats, that accent the high polish bluing, and a stunning Nitre blue finish on the thumb safety, slide stop, magazine release, and pins. The markings on the slide, to include the original patent markings, pay tribute to the original Colt markings. Stunning rosewood stocks, and Nitre blued stock screws complete the package.

The gun ships in a Nighthawk Custom PVC case and a custom, leather trimmed, Negrini case that is truly a work of art. Unfortunately, only 100 Cooper Classics were built and they have all been sold. However, the classic package is available on either a new Nighthawk Custom pistol or on a customer’s personal 1911.
