Until the 2025 NRA Annual Meeting, I had never heard of Warwick Tactical. A friend brought me over to their booth, and I’m glad they did. One of the pistols they had on display was the Direct Mount Limited Optics Pistol. I gravitated towards this pistol immediately, first noticing that there were no iron sights on the gun. As a competition shooter, I loved this feature as iron sights can clutter up a slide and be a distraction when using a red dot optic. The grip felt good in the hand, but could use a slightly more aggressive texture, which is always a matter of personal preference. While I got to dry-fire the trigger and was impressed, I asked them to send me the gun to review so I could get some live-fire time with it.
The gun fired every type of ammunition I used. It shot accurate groups, which is a non-negotiable for a competition-style pistol. The trigger was as smooth to shoot in live fire as it was in dry fire. The felt recoil was low due to the pistol’s weight and slower-velocity ammunition. However, if they designed a single-port compensator gun, that would likely outperform this one. For a retail price of $3,500, this gun is a total steal.
