The Wilson Combat CQB Elite 1911 paired with the Quell P-S suppressor is an exceptional defensive setup. While not concealable, this combination makes for an excellent home defense or travel gun. The ergonomics of the CQB Elite accommodates all hand sizes, thanks to its thin frame, checkering on the front and back straps, and G-10 diagonal grips. The trigger is set to 3.5-4.5 pounds, which is what you want in a defensive weapon rather than a lightweight trigger. The accuracy decreased slightly with the suppressor added, but not significantly enough to warrant concern. The reliability is what wins me over every time I pick up a Wilson Combat pistol. The CQB Elite 1911 and Quell P-S suppressor ran subsonic and defensive ammunition with ease. The felt recoil only improved with the addition of the suppressor. If you’re looking for a 1911 defensive setup, this is it.
