Blackout Defense Quantum Mark 2

When the last calculation was complete the scores showed this year’s winner was the Blackout Defense Quantum Mark 2, with Daniel Defense MK18 RIII a close second (just a half-point away). The Blackout Defense rifle hit the trifecta of performance, price and value. It was my favorite rifle this year. Karen Hunter shared my feelings and commented, “During these evaluations I never dissect the gun before I shoot it. I don’t pick it up and think about each individual category I will be scoring it on later. I start with an open mind, shooting and getting a feel for it. Those initial moments can tell you so much. The Quantum Mark 2 showed recognizable differences within the first five shots. From shooting and ease of manipulation all the way to aesthetics, this gun was incredible.”
