The GForce Arms Saddlehorn LTAC357 aluminum receiver lever action is an excellent adaptation of the classic Winchester Model 1892 to the expectations of 21st century shooters. It shaves off about five ounces from a comparable 16.5 inch barrel, threaded muzzel, steel receiver, gun. With the right red-dot and suppressor, you could have a gun virtually the same size as the quick handling standard 20 inch barrel carbine but lighter and more versatile overall thanks to the aluminum M-Lok forend with integral Picatinny rail at the bottom front, and five inches of Picatinny rail on the barrel for optics. The GForce LTAC357 is made my Hugtek in Turkey with and MSRP of only $779. A utilitarian firearm, its build quality and accuracy are quite good, and the action was very smooth right out of the box. Mine had a 1.75 pound single stage trigger that belonged on a target rifle. Minor flaws include a manual hammer block safety on the breech bolt that took unusual force to engage at times, the tendency of the screws holding the forend to the receiver to loosen up while shooting making it less than ideal for mounting a targeting laser, and the lack of any windage adjustment for the iron sights. For precise zeroing, the gun needs an optic. Nice features included front and rear sling swivel mounting studs, a fiber optic front sight, and a beautiful walnut buttstock with soft rubber buttplate. Anyone wanting or needing the power of .357 Magnum and the ability to engage targets out to the maximum effective range of that cartridge will appreciate this carbine’s light weight, sleek, compact form, and value price.
