For 2025 Henry Repeating Arms has rolled out their Lever Action Supreme Rifle. Unlike lever-guns with tubular magazines, the new Henry uses a 10-round box magazine, and it will accept other MSR-type magazines. It is chambered in .223/5.56 NATO (18-in. Bbl) or .300 BLK (16.5-in. Bbl); both barrels are free-floating, and threaded at the muzzle. The rear sight is a unique, fully adjustable trapezoidal-type, the front sight is a ramped blade. Inside the aero-space grade aluminum receiver is a patent-pending quad bar linkage and slider crank mechanism that delivers a smooth lever action, and operates a rotating bolt head. The trigger is adjustable and the test gun had a pull weight of 3.5 lbs. Its satin-finished American walnut stock is checkered, and the butt has a rubber recoil pad, plus sling swivel studs are included.
Test shooting was done with five different .223 loads; I used a Bushell Trophy dot optical. Accuracy evaluations were done at 25, 50 and 100 yards. Other shooting exercises were done at 15, 25, and 40 yards. All told, some 155 rounds were fired through the HRA LASR. The only issue was some case sticking when the barrel got hot, requiring vigorous use of the lever. The rifle is obviously more accurate than the operator.
