The next gun on our list comes from a company that is less well-known than some of our other players. The Grunt Rifle from Lead Star Arms is designed for duty use. Upon closer inspection we found it was equipped with features normally only found on higher-priced models. Lead Star states that the gun is “engineered for best-in-class performance with our distinctive aesthetics,” and they are right. The gun is indeed good looking and performed well. The rifle features a 16-inch barrel with a lightweight 17-inch handguard to give a streamlined look. Lead Star arms used their own Grunt Combat Grip on the gun, which I found to be very comfortable. The gun also had a Ravage Linear Compensator and a Lead Star lightweight six-position carbine stock. Priced at just over $900, we agreed that this was the best value gun in the mix this year.
