The new Combat HD Rifle from Midwest Industries is a rifle I would purchase if I were in the market for a high-quality, fully decked-out rifle with almost all ambidextrous controls. The gun is built with a Criterion Core Barrel, known for its accuracy, which sets the tone for the whole build. The new handguard design features a full Picatinny rail, QD mounting locations, and all the M-LOK rail you could want. It is also constructed with a longer barrel nut for enhanced durability. The gun comes with the RIFLESPEED adjustable gas block system, allowing you to tune the gun to your specific ammunition and suppressor, if you choose to mount one. It is built with an ambidextrous magazine release button and comes with Radian Weapons’ ambi charging handle and 45-degree safety. The trigger is a 2-stage nickel boron match trigger that isn’t my favorite, but it is ten times better than a MIL-Spec one. I’m not a fan of the Kung Fu Grip, but that would be the only part on this gun I’d swap out. It’s reliable, easy to reload (even for left-handed shooters), and accurate with good quality ammunition.
