The Patriot Long Range Hunter is a no-nonsense rifle that offered a low MSRP at $766, which is pretty remarkable today for a 6.5 Creedmoor. It’s built like a Russian tank, but doesn’t weigh a ton. Rifle snobs beware: Don’t shoot one of these Mossbergs unless you’re ready to open your wallet. I’ve shot several Mossberg bolt-actions over the years, and everybody who’s shot one has the same reaction…surprise. They always outperform expectations.
This rifle sports a Spider Gray polymer-coated stock, a matte blue barrel finish, and tipped the scales at 7.5 pounds with a scope base installed. It shaves a bit of weight with a fluted barrel. It’s ready to “go long,” with a threaded muzzle and a second sling swivel stud installed on the fore end so you can mount a bipod and a sling.

If you consider that 1 MOA measures 1.047 inches at 100 yards, and this rifle printed a five-shot, 1.061-inch group at that distance, it missed being sub-MOA by a very slim margin. Overall, it averaged 1.56 MOA for five shots by all shooters at all distances.
