Daniel Defense is not the only AR-centered company that can make a bolt gun. Rock River Arms entered the fray with their RRBG. This is one nice rig featuring a bright SS barrel mated to a “proprietary action” and tucked into an incredible KRG Bravo Chassis. I’ll go out on a limb and say the action is a Big Horn (aka Zermatt Arms) version. My competition rifle and trainer both have Big Horn actions so I know them when I feel them. It’s a mystery why RRA doesn’t want anyone to know, as they are great actions. But I digress.
A Trigger Tech trigger makes it go boom, and if you know how to run the action I challenge you to find one faster and slicker. That said, it wasn’t Tom’s cup of tea. “Takes some getting used to,” he said. The barrel has a fairly heavy profile, but we don’t know who makes the barrel.

While the RRA looks good, we struggled with accuracy. It just wouldn’t shoot. We tried 140’s and 130’s from several manufacturers but there was never a great group. The best was 0.8 inches with maybe a couple of rounds touching. This miffed us, causing us to shake our heads while looking at it. It has so many great components, but it just didn’t work well in this particular sample. Tom stated, “It had moments of brilliance, otherwise it won’t group.” And, with a price tag over $4,000, we honestly expect more.
