Next up to bat was the Rock River ATH Carbine V2. This release from Rock River is built with a focus on precision, long-range performance. More specifically it is designed for those who enjoy pursuing varmints. The gun has many nice features, but the heart of it is the barrel. This is a RRA 18-inch heavy match stainless steel barrel that has been cryogenically treated for uniformity and features a 1:8 twist to provide good bullet stability. Rock River states that the gun can deliver reliable .75-MOA accuracy at 100 yards. Our testing printed groups just a breath under 1 inch. As always, the gun may have an ammo preference, but regardless, it still shot very well. This was one of the bigger guns we tested simply by its nature. It had a 16.5-inch barrel and came in at 7.6 pounds empty. The RRA two-stage varmint trigger was appreciated by all the evaluators as it broke very clean with a nice reset. You can tell the gun is built around a precision application. Priced at $1,275, it’s a good value for the money.
