We all agreed this felt like the lightest shotgun that we tested. Perhaps due to the lightness, it also felt like the hardest recoiling. There is definitely something to be said for light shotguns when you have to carry them a lot but you rarely have to shoot them. For a tactical gun, if and when you do have to shoot it, your life is probably on the line and you won’t notice the recoil. Also, if you push the gun forward with your support hand, the recoil is far less noticeable.
The P3000 is a pretty simple shotgun. It has a blade front sight, but no rear sight. The safety is at the back of the triggerguard, and the action bar release is at the front on the right side. Everything about the guns feels solid: It has a good trigger and the furniture is comfortable to hold. It shot good groups, though one of the judges caught his thumb in the notch of the lifter while loading. Besides that, comments amounted to it being a good price point for a simple, reliable tactical shotgun.
