In 2018, the Kimber K6s won the Ballistic’s Best revolver category. So it was only logical for Kimber to expand the line to include a traditional exposed-hammer model. Like the Colt, the K6s DASA is based on a medium frame with a six-shot capacity. It’s an all-stainless-steel revolver with a soft satin finish and no sharp edges. The action is smooth, and the cylinder locks up earlier in DA mode than a Colt or Smith & Wesson. The scalloped recoil shield and beveled edges give the K6s a very modern appearance as well. Instead of fluting, the cylinder is more hexagonal, which adds strength to the design while allowing it to have the smallest diameter of any six-shot .357 Magnum on the market.

Kimber also equips the K6s DASA with attractive walnut grips that are checkered and extend approximately 1 inch below the butt of the frame. The grips look great, fill the space behind the triggerguard and are ideal for concealed carry.

The K6s DASA scored high on aesthetics, trigger control and ergonomics. The evaluators liked its overall appearance, the smooth DA trigger pull, and the revolver’s “bar of soap” feel. The Novak-style, three-dot sights were ranked highly as well.

The K6s DASA shot to the point of aim at 10 yards. However, the grips were a bit brutal when it came to shooting repeated strings with .357 Magnum ammunition. And like the Colt, Kimber kept the short ejection rod from its 2-inch-barreled guns. Nonetheless, the Kimber received an overall score of 37.63 pounds.
