The Canik TP9 Elite Combat Executive had the best trigger of the bunch with a superb reset. It was also the fastest to shoot, with little recoil. The ergonomics were great, and the texturing wasn’t too aggressive. The TP9 also seemed to offer the best value for the money considering the SAI components. That said, the grip was a bit short for some shooters, and the pistol shot low. The iron sights are lost if you install an optic, and the trigger might be too light for everyday carry without a manual safety.

This brings us to the Canik TP9 Elite Combat Executive, which is packed with value. Canik teamed up with Salient Arms International (SAI) to deliver the consummate combat-ready pistol at a price that’s just simply hard to believe. You name it and it’s got it. This TP9 comes with a fluted and gold-PVD-coated barrel from SAI that wears 1/2×28-tpi threading as well as SAI proprietary convex thread protector. SAI also provided the sights—a fiber-optic front and serrated rear—as well as the magazine well.
