The FN 503 is the company’s single-stack subcompact with a capacity of 6+1 rounds with its flush-fit magazine. Controls on the FN 503 are easily accessed and engaged. A three-dot sight arrangement is the standard setup for the FN 503. Aggressive checkering on the FN 503’s backstrap locks the pistol down for extra control. The front end of the FN 503 is fairly clean and simple, lacking forward cocking serrations. The single-stack FN 503 offered a good sight picture and was reasonably accurate for its size. The FN 503 felt a little awkward in the hand with its longer grip frame but was still manageable during recoil. With its relatively light trigger, the FN 503 was more than accurate enough to quickly address a steel plate rack at 15 yards. With its aggressive grip texturing, Brad was able to keep a secure purchase on the FN 503 during recoil.
