Excellent firepower, accuracy, reliability, concealability and refined elegance come together in the surprisingly soft shooting 9mm Kimber CDS9, the more full-featured version of the CDS9 Classic. Lovers of the 1911 platform will be drawn to this micro-compact which can feel and handle like a compact or full sized handgun when using the extended 13 and 15 round magazines. The solid five-finger grip these extended magazines allow really improve shooter control and accuracy. Use the excellent fiber optic enhanced iron sights or install an RMCs footprint red dot. Compact (1.16 inches thick, 6.2 inches long, and 5 inches high with 13 round magazine) and light (21.5 ounces empty) the CDS9 conceals and carries well, but shoots like a much large gun. Finished in two-tone KIMPRO II paint, the T6 Aluminum alloy frame is mated with a stainless steel slide, match grade 3.18 inch heavy barrel and VZ Frag pattern G10 grip panels. (the same pattern is milled into the frame’s front and backstrap). Low profile ambidextrous manual safety and slide-lock-release levers and a reversable, oversized, magazine release button allow it to be set up perfectly for left-handed shooters. While not quite on par with the 1911’s true single action trigger-pull, the CDS9 trigger has a light (5.5-6 pound) pull and shorter length of travel than triggers typically found on striker fired guns.
