Smith & Wesson made a wise decision to upgrade the CSX pistol with the new E-Series. They sent me the 3.6-inch barrel version to review, and I was pleasantly surprised. The day of the red dot is here, and gone are the days of iron sights (somewhat). The upgrade to make the slide optic-ready was a necessary change that increased the value of the E-Series pistols. The rear sight comes off with the placeholder slide plate to mount any RMS-C/507K footprint red dot optic.

The modularity and increased capacity of this pistol are what really sold me. You can make this pistol into a super small concealed carry pistol or still have a concealable gun but with more capacity and a longer grip. Smith & Wesson upgraded from 10 and 12-round magazines to include a 12, 15, and 17-round magazine with the new E-Series gun. The accuracy from the 3.6-inch barrel was not bad at 10 yards, and it cycled different types of defensive hollow point ammunition from 90-grain bullets to 124-grain. Overall, it is easy to manipulate the controls and is too easy to conceal with any outfit.
