The OuThe Ounce is a unique .22LR pistol from the small company Third Bay, designed to be an extremely easy-to-carry and easy-to-shoot self-defense option for people of all experience levels.

Innovative Design & Safety

The Ounce is a seven-ounce, semi-automatic, locked-breech folding pistol. When collapsed, the barrel, frame, and magazine fold into the grip, resulting in a blocky object that does not resemble a firearm. This design is inherently safe: the trigger is fully covered, and the firing pin is de-aligned when folded.

The gun’s most clever feature is its deployment: unfolding the pistol with a lever automatically chambers a round, eliminating the need to rack a slide. This is a significant advantage for shooters with low hand strength.

Range Performance

The Ounce uses a long recoil, locked-breech design, a rarity for a .22LR, which results in no recoil. Despite its unique setup, the Ounce proved highly reliable, firing hundreds of rounds without failure. It is also surprisingly accurate for a micro-sized pocket pistol, capable of grouping ten rounds inside a two-inch dot at seven yards.

The Ounce’s true value is its concealment. It carries with absolute ease and is nearly impossible to spot in a pocket.nce
