Franchi’s Momentum Elite is an ideal long-range rifle that wears the perfect barrel length for a 6.5 PRC. This rig has a great MSRP of $899, and can be found online for as little as $759. That’s a fantastic price for a 6.5 PRC rifle.
The Momentum Elite features a chrome three-lug bolt with a 60-degree throw. Its light contour cold-hammer-forged chrome molybdenum barrel is free floated and measures 24 inches. The muzzle is threaded 5/8-24, and wears a brake that does a good job mitigating recoil. The brake coupled with a great recoil pad helped cut recoil by a company-claimed 50 percent. Our experience found the recoil light for the round.

An adjustable single-stage trigger offers a crisp, clean break and adjusts from 2 to 4 pounds. Molded swivel attachment points are recessed into the stock to ensure stud protrusions don’t snag.
The Momentum Elite comes with a detachable box-type magazine that holds three 6.5 PRC cartridges. Mounting an optic is straightforward with a one-piece Picatinny rail.
Evaluators either loved or hated the Franchi Momentum, with individual scores ranging between 31 and 40 out of a possible 45.
